Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the position of Executive Member at PEMRA, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

• Eminent Expertise: The candidate should be an eminent citizen with proven expertise in one or more of the following fields: media, law, human rights, and social service.
• Educational Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Media Studies, Business Administration, Management, Finance, Law, or a related field from a recognized university in Pakistan or an equivalent degree from abroad is required.
• Age Limit: The maximum age limit for the position is 61 years as of the closing date of applications.
• Relevant Experience: Candidates must have significant professional work experience in prominent institutions, with a thorough knowledge of electronic media and media laws.
• Government Servants: Eligible government servants can also apply through the proper channels.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in functioning under the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023. The responsibilities include contributing to the regulation and oversight of electronic media in Pakistan, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and addressing key issues in media regulation.

Tenure

The position of Executive Member at PEMRA is for a four-year tenure. However, the incumbent will retire upon reaching the age of 65 years, providing a fixed yet impactful term to influence media regulation in Pakistan.

3. Shortlisting: Only eligible and shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
4. No TA/DA: Candidates will not be eligible for any travel allowance or daily allowance.
5. Selection Rights: The government reserves the right to reject any or all applications without providing any reason and to make appointments at its discretion.
