A terrible accident happened on the M9 Motorway close to Nooriabad in Jamshoro district. A passenger coach and a coaster collided, causing five people to die and leaving more than 20 others injured.
The accident occurred when a coaster was carrying a wedding party from Karachi to Nawan Jatoi village. Unfortunately, it slipped off the highway near Nooriabad.
The Senior Superintendent of Police in Jamshoro, Tariq Nawaz, shared that one person died on the spot, and 20 passengers got hurt.
The individuals who lost their lives were named Ali Jan Magsi, Ghulam Shabbir Chandio, 8-year-old Sadia Magsi, and a woman whose identity is still unknown. Their bodies were taken to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) in Jamshoro. The injured were rushed to LUH Hyderabad for medical care, and some were later sent to Civil Hospital Karachi for more treatment.
Both the Edhi Foundation spokesperson and Gadap City police SHO, Majid Alvi, said the accident happened because of heavy rain.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that thunderstorms with heavy rain would continue in Karachi until April 15. The rain affected many parts of the city, including the Airport, I.I Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme 33, and DHA.
