As per the latest updates from the Meteorological Office, Karachi and several districts in Sindh are anticipated to experience moderate showers on Thursday. The Met Office issued a forecast on Wednesday, predicting thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy downpours. This weather phenomenon is attributed to the influence of a westerly wave sweeping across Karachi division and various districts including Jamshoro, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, and Hyderabad.
Karachi and Several Sindh Districts Expected to Receive Rain, Met Office Reports
The expected areas for rainfall include Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, and Sujawal among others. While the forecast hints at moderate rainfall, the Met Office clarified that the prevailing weather system over Balochistan and Sindh is not as potent as observed over the UAE and Oman.

Despite the dry conditions prevailing in most parts of the province, there were reports of light rainfall in certain areas. Sukkur, Rohri, Larkana, and Jacobabad districts received slight traces of rainfall on Wednesday, according to the latest report from the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
This update comes as a relief to residents, particularly in Karachi and other drought-prone regions, offering hope for replenishment of water reservoirs and relief from scorching temperatures.
